About Free Fly Apparel

We’re a family with a shared passion (ok, obsession) for the outdoors. Wading creeks, casting flies, exploring the unknown… We grew up outside and we’re still chasing those dreams today. Our story began with a simple problem: We couldn’t find a performance shirt that was comfortable (a.k.a. doesn’t feel like plastic). Since it didn’t exist, we decided to create it. The Solution? Bamboo. Together, we quit our jobs and created a brand built around natural comfort designed for the freedom lifestyle. Our custom bamboo blends are spun from our mission to help you achieve more freedom with a focus on keeping you comfortable. We design for like-minded people, those weekend warriors who rather be on the water than in a cubicle. The pursuit of the Silver King starts in the Keys with Ambassador Forrest Powell and is an on-going battle with all of the elements to get that one eat. The failure every single day is discouraging, but it’s what keeps us coming back for the moment when it all comes together. The use of a codpiece, a separate covering attached to the trousers, became popular in 16th-century Europe, eventually evolving into an attached fall-front (or broad fall). The fly-front (split fall) emerged later. The panelled front returned as a sporting option, such as in riding breeches, but is now hardly used, flies being by far the most common fastening. Most flies now use a zip, though button flies continue in use. The presence of hard steely material within the fly reportedly may on occasion result in damage to nerve endings in erectile tissue in men if there is prolonged and repeated contact between the surface and the semi or fully erect penile glans.
