About Tactics Store

Celebrating skateboarding and snowboarding, Tactics exists to retain the best experience of a specialty boardshop in the digital age while making a positive impact in the world.
Independently owned by its founders and located in the Pacific Northwest, we are inspired by having the Cascade mountains at our back, the ocean at our feet, and some of the world’s best skate spots in all directions. Since our humble start in a garage in 1999, Tactics has stoked nearly two million customers.
A tactic is a conceptual action aiming at the achievement of a goal. This action can be implemented as one or more specific tasks. The term is commonly used in business, protest and military contexts, as well as in chess, sports or other competitive activities.
The terms tactic and strategy are often confused: tactics are the actual means used to gain an objective, while strategy is the overall campaign plan, which may involve complex operational patterns, activity, and decision-making that govern tactical execution. The United States Department of Defense Dictionary of Military Terms defines the tactical level as “the level of war at which battles and engagements are planned and executed to accomplish military objectives assigned to tactical units or task forces. Activities at this level focus on the ordered arrangement and maneuver of combat elements in relation to each other and to the enemy to achieve combat objectives.”
If, for example, the overall goal is to win a war against another country, one strategy might be to undermine the other nation’s ability to wage war by preemptively annihilating their military forces. The tactics involved might describe specific actions taken in specific locations, like surprise attacks on military facilities, missile attacks on offensive weapon stockpiles, and the specific techniques involved in accomplishing such objectives.
actics was a brand of Nexton from 1997 to 2011. Their debut release was a game titled Dōsei in mid-1997, followed by Moon in the same year, and One: Kagayaku Kisetsu e in 1998. The last two games were met with much praise from the Japanese community. While the studio was still in its early years, the core team of both Moon and One broke off and began their own company, Key, in 1998. Tactics continued to release games despite this sudden change in staff. In 2009, Tactics became two separate brands: Tactics Luxury and Tactics*Latte. In 2011, the Tactics brand shut down and the two brands became independent.
